Get Counseling Support
Get guidance on choosing your major or certificate, reviewing degree requirements, and creating a Student Education Plan (SEP) that outlines your pathway to graduation or transfer.Click here to see available appointment types and counseling for specialized programs:
Get quick, 10-minute counseling sessions with our Express Counseling service, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Sessions are open to current, new, and returning students (who have submitted applications at least 24 hours in advance)
We offer transfer counseling services for students planning to attend a four-year college or university. Counselors can assist with:
- University transfer requirements
- Major preparation
- Transfer admission planning
- CSU and UC application guidance
- General transfer advising

Butte College Athletics offers academic counseling services to assist student-athletes in all aspects of their academic and athletic endeavors.
Veterans Services helps veterans, service members, and eligible dependents use their VA benefits while attending Butte College.
Additional Resources
Articulation is how courses transfer for the purposes of admission, transferable units, general education, or major preparation. Articulation agreements between community colleges and CSUs (California State University), UCs (University of California), and some independent colleges are available on the ASSIST.org website.
General Education is a program of courses in the arts and sciences that provides a broad educational experience
